Bird and flower forms create relationships of direction, pause, and response. Their placement can make a page feel inhabited, as if each form is attentive to the space around it.

A closer look

The visual language of a work often develops through small relationships: one form beside another, a change in tempo, or a quiet area that gives the surrounding marks greater presence.

A finished image can hold these relationships without resolving them into a single explanation. Their balance is discovered through looking, returning, and allowing each element enough space to remain distinct.
